Geometric prints by Natasha Bugg

Natasha Buggs fantastic vivid geometric prints really caught my eye whilst browsing through Artsthread. Her graduate collection uses a mixture of bright and subtle beautiful colours. Her concept for her graduate collection was around the idea of body image. She used scanned images of her own body to develop into digital print designs. I think it is a really interesting idea as the fashion fabrics are far from resembling a literal body yet this inspiration has worked really well. She wanted to convey the idea that no matter how you felt about your body you could have beautiful fabrics created from your body to cover it. I am currently designing my own bright coloured prints and find her work really interesting.

These prints remind me of Jenny Saville's work which captures folds of flesh and obesity.
